Subscriptions & billing

What's free, and what does Premium add?

Wordventure is free to download, and the first level of every place is free. Wordventure Premium is a monthly or yearly subscription that unlocks every level in every place. New subscribers can start with a free trial.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by Wordventure. To cancel:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
  3. Select Wordventure and tap Cancel Subscription.

You keep Premium until the end of the current billing period. If you're in a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid being charged.

I subscribed but Premium isn't showing on my other device.

Make sure both devices are signed in with the same Apple ID. Then open Wordventure, go to the Premium screen, and tap Restore Purchases. Your subscription belongs to your Apple ID, so it works on all your Apple devices.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Wordventure charge, and request a refund. If you get stuck, email us and we'll help.

Using Wordventure

How do I switch between English and Chinese?

Open the settings inside the app and choose the language your child is learning: English, or Chinese with pinyin. Chinese also adds a Find it mode for reading characters. You can set the meaning language there too: English, Chinese, French, German or Spanish.

How do levels work?

Each place in the town (the zoo, the pet shop, the supermarket and so on) has three levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Each level has its own picture and its own set of words. Your child can pick any level in any place; there's no set order to follow.

Say it isn't hearing my child.
I can't hear the words.

Wordventure speaks each word with your device's built-in voices. If you hear nothing, check the side ring/silent switch and turn up the volume. You can add higher-quality voices under Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices.

When do flashcards come back?

Words your child misses can be kept as flashcards from the summary at the end of a round. Each saved word comes back on the day it's due, at growing gaps: after 1, 2, 4, 7 and 14 days.

Why is the town dark?

When dark mode is on, the map and scenes switch to night-time art. The places and words are the same. If you'd rather see daytime scenes, check the appearance setting on your device (Settings → Display & Brightness) and the settings inside the app.

iCloud & privacy

Progress isn't syncing between devices.

Wordventure syncs progress, flashcards and settings through your own iCloud. There's no separate login. Please check that:

Is my child's data private?

Yes. Wordventure has no account and no ads, and asks for no contact details. Progress stays on your device and in your own iCloud. Say it uses Apple's speech recognition and the app doesn't record or keep audio. We collect only usage and crash data to keep the app working. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
